Mothers Day – A Celebration In Honor of All Mothers…

A Celebration In Honor of All Mothers

Mother – a word that reminds us of all warmth and love. She dedicates each day to us, so why not celebrate at least one day for her as Mother’s Day. Though our mere presence fills the mother with pleasure but wishing her a happy Mother’s Day will make her even more happy. Mother’s Day can help us to make her feel valuable.

M – is for the million things she gave me

O – means only that she’s growing old

T – is for the tears she shed to save me

H – is for her heart of purest gold

E – is for her eyes, with love-light shining

R – means right, and right she’ll always be.

Buddha honoured mothers when he said, “As a mother, even at the risk of her own life, loves and protects her child, so let a man cultivate love without measure toward the whole world.”

In India Mother’s Day is celebrated on the second Sunday of May .The practice of celebrating the Mother is not alien to India. For thousands of years Hindus have been celebrating a ten-day festival, Durga Puja, honouring the divine mother Durga, in early October. But the more personal festival of ‘Mother’s Day’ has also come to become a part of our culture now. What it offers is an opportunity to honor and show our appreciation for our flesh and blood mother – the one person who has stood by us through thick and thin.
